mospace fonts work for me / I'll look at the tag issue

If I set various monospace fonts with the notes client editor (default monospace, lucida console, lucida typewriter, currier new) and they all get transferred to the HTML and the CK editor renders them properly, as monospace.
The domino rich text to html converter handles "default monospace" specially, generating <TT> element. The other fonts just use the <font> tag.
What you may be seeing is that the browsers collapse multiple consecutive white space to one space, except for the <TT> tag.
You can try the HTML option TextExactSpacing

I do see what you are experiencing with "<version>", but in the CKeditor not the dojo editor.
The domino rich text to HTML conversion does render as &lt; ... &gt; (look at the source in the browser). Something browser side must be is decoding.
